The United Nations (UN) rights office on Tuesday described the ongoing tension between Palestine and Israel as worrying.

"We condemn all violence and all incitement to violence and ethnic division and provocations," stated spokesman Rupert Colville.

Colville maintained that Israel must allow expression, association, and assembly freedom. According to the UN official, if force must be used, then it must comply with international standards.

The UN expressed much concern about violence meted on children.  The organization insisted that the children under hostage must be freed.

Following a heavy gunfire exchange between Israel and Hamas on Tuesday (today), about 22 persons lost their lives. This clash is reportedly the worst since the last one that occurred in 2017.

During 2017 clashes, Israel security officers reportedly clashed with Palestinian worshippers who were conducting last Friday Ramadhan prayers.
