US Embassy Gives Visa Renewal Updates Under The Interview Waiver Program

The embassy in a statement said that Kenyans will no longer need an interview when applying for a renewed tourist, business, student, and crew visas.

According to the embassy, one must be applying for the same visa category in order to be eligible for this program.

Additionally, your visa should not have been out of date for more than four years. The previous cap was one year.

US ambassador Meg Whitman on Friday said the expansion was effective immediately.

“Effective immediately, those applying for tourist/business, student, or crew visas categories may be eligible for a visa renewal without an interview,” Whitman said.

Most citizens or nationals of participating nations can travel to the United States for vacation or business for stays of 90 days or less as this program does not need them to apply for a visa.

The travelers must be in possession of a valid Electronic System for Travel Authorization approval and satisfy all outlined conditions, prior to departure.

The move, according to the US government, is a part of the embassy's attempts to deal with backlog issues and visa delay cases.
