President Joe Biden’s vow to have 70% of American adults  vaccinated before their Independence day, July 4, maybe in jeopardy with the slowing vaccination pace in the country.

Biden had on Tuesday announced a strategic shift from mass vaccination pushes to utilizing more community clinics and pharmacists to reach younger Americans, those in the rural areas, and those reluctant to get the shots.

"We're going to make it easier than ever to get vaccinated," said Biden in a speech at the White House.

According to the latest data from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, CDC,  about 145 million adults have gotten at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

With President Biden’s expectation, additional 35 million adults will need to receive at least one covid-19 shot within the remaining two months.

"It's an achievable goal. It's a stretch goal but it's an achievable goal," Ron Klain ,White House Chief of Staff told CNN on Tuesday.

He added that; "we have vaccinated 57% of the adults in this country; we're on the back half of this project, and so it's going to go a little more slowly."

“To meet the goal, Biden directed tens of thousands of pharmacies participating in the federal pharmacy program to offer walk-in appointments and redirect Federal Emergency Management Agency resources to support more pop-up clinics, smaller community vaccination sites, and more mobile clinics,” confirmed senior administration officials.

According to the reports, more vaccines are therefore supposed to be shipped to the rural communities and funds allocated to the popup clinics to effectively manage the process.
