Vandals Burn Down COTU Boss Road Sign

Kenyans woke up to a very shocking and disturbing incident as Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli`s road sign named after him was razed down in the wee hours of Tuesday 15th.

This shocking incident comes barely fought night after the road sign was reinstalled after it was brought down by unknown goons. It has been at the center of controversy.

According to a section of Kenyans on social media argued that the COTU boss has done nothing for workers he represents to warrant a road named after him.

The COTU boss, however, dared those who want to bring it down again to do so after it was reinstalled.

Atwoli added that a CCTV camera was installed in the area to monitor those who will be after vandalizing the signboard down.

“The Nairobi County Government has reinstalled the sign. If you think you came from the moon go try to remove it again. Also, a CCTV has been installed for the security of the area,” Atwoli tweeted.

However, when a Kenyan photojournalist Boniface Mwangi went visited the place to bring the signboard down, he was shocked when he found a group of hired goons to guard the pot and they sent him away.

“Im back! I went to see the illegal sign on Dik-Dik Road. I find it laughable

@AtwoliDza

has employed three goons to guard it. Atwoli thrives on violence and intimidation to get his way. His CCTV is goons. We shall avoid confrontations but the sign will come down" Mwangi said.

The road was formerly DikDik Road and it was renamed Francis Atwoli Road on Thursday, May 27.

It was also unveiled in the presence of Nairobi Deputy Governor Ann Kananu Mwenda among other leaders.

This has forced the deputy governor to react on her Twitter page in a tweet condemning the evil act.

What remains a puzzle is where were the goons hired to guard the road sign at the time of the ordeal and if it's true there is CCTV Footage then the goons behind the vandalization of the road sign should be brought to book with immediate effect.
