Varsity Student Charged for Sending Threats to Couple after Leaking Nudes

A university student Stephen Wanjohi Kamande aged 21 was charged on Wednesday 16th February for sending threats and nudes photos to a married couple.

According to information sourced by this publication, Stephen leaked nude photos of a woman he allegedly had intimate with to her husband.

Additionally, the student was also charged with harassing the woman and threatening her life.

When Kamande appeared before Milimani Chief Magistrate Wendy Kagendo on Monday, he claimed to have committed the offense between May 1, 2021, and January 14, 2022. He was accused of illegally disseminating indecent materials.

The accused was also charged for posting false information about the woman's spouse on His Facebook social media account.

He, however, denied all of the charges levied against him and was released on a Ksh.100,000 cash bail.

The hearing of his case is set for March 1, 2022.

In a similar case on August 21st, 2020, a 58-year-old man Sandip Rajinikani was charged in Kibera Court for sending nude photos to his ex-girlfriend Linda via Email on July 5th, 2020.

Sandip later denied the charges and stated that the complainant was willing to withdraw the charges.

However, prosecutor GeofryObiri objected to the idea and asked the court to give a restraining order for Sandip to stop communicating with his ex-girlfriend so as to not interfere with the pieces of evidence.

Sandip was later released on a Ksh. 30,000 cahs bail where his case was set to be heard on September 3rd, 2020.
