VIDEO: 'I Am Not A Deputy, I Am A Co-governor' Kakamega Deputy Governor Says

In a video shared by Kakamega's deputy governor, Ayub Savula has come out to claim that he and his boss, Fernandes Barasa have shared the county government into two equal shares.

Ayub went on to say that he is not a deputy governor, but rather a co-governor with his boss, Fernandes Barasa. He stated that he should be referred to as a co-governor.

"I am not a deputy governor. I am a co-governor of Kakamega. That was our agreement," Savula stated.

Savula stated that they had an agreement with several parties including Fernandes Barasa, Azimio la Umoja leader, Raila Odinga, former Kakamega governor, Wycliffe Oparanya, the DAP Kenya party, and the ODM party.

"Constitutionally, Kamagega has ten ministries. Barasa amechukua ministries tano na mimi nimechukua tano. I am not a deputy governor, I am a co-governor," Savula stated.

Speaking at a burial in Lugari, Savula claimed that  Azimio la Umoja coalition operatives forced him to join the coalition and support Raila Odinga's presidential bid in the recently concluded General Election.

“I have not mentioned it to anyone but today I will go public about it. It is the coercion from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) that forced me to support the Azimio coalition. They arrested me and my two wives at night on fictitious charges,” Savula revealed.

Here are several reactions to Savula's claims to be a co-governor.
