VIDEO: KOT Wants NCIC's Action Over DP Ruto's Manipulated Video

A viral video that emerged on August 2 has caused an uproar among Kenyans on Twitter (KOT) after several people shared the manipulated video of Deputy President William Ruto uttering unpleasant words to his supporters during a campaign rally in Uasin Gishu County.

According to the manipulated video, DP Ruto was heard saying derogatory words to the Western, Nyanza, and Central attendees.

"The people from Western Kenya who are here, the people from Nyanza who are here, the people from Central who are here, shame on you! Na tutawashtaki kwa Mungu..." DP Ruto's manipulated video was heard.

According to sources, DP William Ruto had a campaign rally in Uasin Gishu County on August 1 where he met his supporters as he campaigned. The manipulated video was later released on August 2. 

"The Kalenjins who are here, the people from Western Kenya who are here, the people from Nyanza who are here, the people from Central who are here, the people from all parts of Kenya who are here, they belong to Uasin Gishu," DP Ruto stated on August 1 during the campaign rally in Uasin Gishu County.

According to one of DP Ruto's supporters, Dennis Itumbi, some of the ODM politicians were also involved in the circulation and posting of the videos on Twitter.

From our sources, Suna East MP Junet Mohamed and the Governor of Mombasa County, Ali Hassan Joho shared the manipulated clip on their Twitter account. Their sharing has sparked a lot of reactions from Kenyans on Twitter as some have termed it as a way to incite Kenyans to get into violence.

"What a shame for a deputy president of a county of many communities to speak like this," part of the tweet read.
