VIDEO: Sacked Prison Commissioner- General Ogalo Arrested

Wycliffe Ogalo, the former Commissioner General of the Prisons Service, has been arrested by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations and the Anti Terrorist Police Unit (ATPU) barely hours after he was sacked by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

On the afternoon of Wednesday, November 17, Ogalo was taken from his office at Magereza House, the Prisons Service Headquarters.
Heavily armed detectives stormed Magereza House commando-style and snatched the prisons' head, who was fired by President Uhuru Kenyatta the same day.

Ogalo was fired on Wednesday following the escape of three terror convicts in Kamiti Maximum Prison in Nairobi on Monday 15th.

In a statement, the President appointed Brigadier (Rtd) John Kibaso Warioba as his replacement.

"His Excellency the President has today appointed and witnessed the swearing-in of Brigadier (Rtd) John Kibaso Warioba as the Commissioner-General of the Kenya Prisons Service," the statement said.

"It is also notified that His Excellency the President had earlier today revoked with immediate effect the appointment of Mr. Wycliffe Ogalo as the Commissioner-General of Kenya."
