VIDEO: 'There Are No Ballot Papers From Uganda or Anywhere Else', Says Chebukati

Speaking during a forum on July 7, Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairman Wafula Chebukati has now come out to clarify the claims of the plot to rig the August 9 elections.

"IEBC has prepared for these elections more than ever before. We will ensure that we have a transparent process; we are going to give Kenyans free, fair, and credible elections. That is our commitment to the country," Chebukati stated.

He further stated that the IEBC is an independent organization that is not influenced by any other organizations.

"We are not directed by any individual, constitution, or authority; we are answerable only to the constitution," he stated.

He confirmed that all ballot papers would be delivered through JKIA and that the first bath would be delivered on Thursday.

He stated that procurement had been completed and that printing was currently underway.

He stated that the presidential ballots would be the last to be printed.

Chebukati stated that election stakeholders would be taken to the printer to see presidential ballot papers being printed.

This follows claims by Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance politicians that a plot was hatched between the IEBC and the Kenya Kwanza Alliance to rig the election in their favor.
