VIDEO: Watch Russian Helicopters attacking an airport in Hostomel near Ukraine's capital Kyiv

Aviral video has shown Russian Helicopters attacking an airport near Ukraine's Capita Kyiv. This comes at a time Ukraine had announced on Thursday 24th that it had closed down its airspace to civilian flights until further notice.

Ukraine indicated a high risk to flight safety in the Donbas region owing to the usage of firearms and military equipment.

Flying through adjacent airspace in Russia and Belarus poses significant safety hazards, according to the European Union Aviation Safety Agency.

"There is a risk of both intentional targeting and misidentification of civil aircraft," the regulator said.

"The presence and possible use of a wide range of ground and airborne warfare systems pose a high risk for civil flights operating at all altitudes and flight levels."

Transport Secretary Grant Shapps has ordered aircraft going to or from UK airports to avoid Ukraine's airspace due to the heated wars between Ukraine and Russia that are going on at the moment.

"I've instructed UK—CAA (the Civil Aviation Authority) to ensure airlines avoid Ukraine airspace to keep passengers and crew safe.

"We continue to stand with the people of Ukraine and work with our international partners to respond to this act of aggression." he tweeted on his Twitter account on Thursday morning.
