Wanjigi Unveils Willis Otieno As Running Mate
Kenyan businessman and political strategist, Jimmy Wanjigi has finally chosen former head of Raila Odinga's presidential campaign, Willis Otieno as his running mate in the August 9 elections.

“I unveil my wonderful running mate, a great son of this soil, a great young man, a diligent professional and a great friend, my young brother Willis Otieno,” Jimmy stated.
Wanjigi unveiled his running mate on Tuesday 17 at the Ufungamano House in Nairobi and stated that it was time for youth to take charge of the country.
“It is the time for young people to stand up and be counted. It’s your time to lead," Wanjigi stated.
Wanjigi stated that Otieno is passionate about socioeconomic rights and community empowerment and that his extensive political experience will benefit both him and the Safina party.
Otieno, the current managing partner of Otieno Ogalo Advocates, is passionate about governance issues, particularly those involving the political and electoral processes.

He previously worked for Transparency International and the International Commission of Jurists in various capacities.
Wanjigi further revealed that it was time for new faces to enter the presidential bid.
“This is a country that has for too long dealt with too few people. We don’t want to change the monkeys but also the forest. I want Kenyans to stand up and being counted, they can’t plan us,” Wanjigi stated.
In 2017, he was also the director of Raila Odinga's presidential campaign secretariat.
Otieno praised the nomination, stating that the time has come for young people to lead the country forward.
Mr. Otieno, who oversaw Mr. Odinga's campaign in 2017, also served as one of his lawyers, alongside Siaya Senator James Orengo.
Wanjigi's running mate announcement comes just after ODM party leader, Raila Odinga unveiled his running mate as Narc Kenya party leader, Martha Karua.
