Why WhatsApp Testing Option for Messages Set to Disappear

WhatsApp is said to be testing a new feature for its Disappearing Messages feature that allows users to set their messages to delete themselves after 90 days.

Why WhatsApp Testing Option for Messages Set to Disappear

This comes at a time Last year, the Facebook-owned app introduced Disappearing Communications as an opt-in function that allows users to have their messages automatically wiped after seven days.

WhatsApp application for Android beta version 2.21.17.16 will now provide the option to delete communications after 90 days, according to WABetaInfo. This in return will aid in the clearing of chats as well as the saving of memory space for a large number of users.
In addition, It will also help users get rid of old conversations permanently, an option that is not available on WhatsApp at the moment.

According to reports, the new function will be trialled alongside the option of having communications disappear after 24 hours. Following testing, all three choices may be provided to users, allowing them to select from three different Disappearing timeframes for certain interactions.

Users can currently enable the seven-day Disappearing messages feature by opening a chat with a specific contact or group, then clicking on the Disappearing Messages button.
