Washington Wizards defeated Indiana Pacers 142 – 115 to book a trip to the playoffs with the Philadelphia 76ers in a single game elimination on Thursday.

Russel Westbrook showed a stunning performance in the contest to help the Wizards in securing the fixture. He scored 15 points, 15 assists, and 8 rebounds.

However, Bradley Beal led in the score sheet by scoring 25 points on 9 of 17 shootings. Wizards led in the first quarter which both teams fought neck to the neck by garnering 14 points when the game reached halftime.

The Wizards were up by 31 points when the game reached t the end of the third quarter. When the game came to an end, Wizards were able to book a contest with Philly. The loss to Pacers was attributed to the absence of Myles Turner, T.J Warren, and Caris Levert.

A spot in the NBA playoffs is the result of an incredible reversal from the Wizards, who were 17-32 at one point in the season, then caught fire to reach the play-in tournament.

 The Wizards were thrashed by Boston Celtics on Tuesday making them miss their first shot at the playoffs. Jayson Tatum was their leading scorer by scoring 50 points. Pacers on the other hand defeated Charlotte Hornets on the same day.

The play-offs between Wizards and 76ers are scheduled to be played on Sunday, 23 May at 8 pm EAT.
