Woe To Fuliza Defaulters As Safaricom Warns Of This Penalty

Safaricom has warned of blocking the fuliza defaulters' access to their M-Shwari and KCB M-Pesa accounts.

These M-Pesa users will also have their savings in the mentioned accounts used to pay the overdue fuliza amount.

Safaricom announced that the new reinforcement will be effective from November 14, 2021.

This is according to an update to the terms and conditions that will give Safaricom the mandate to hold onto users’ funds on the two mobile money accounts in the event users default on the overdraft facility.

"Effective November 14, M-Pesa users who default on their Fuliza loans will have access to their funds in M-Shwari and KCB M-Pesa accounts blocked or used to settle their outstanding balances", Safaricom published.

Fuliza beneficiaries have reacted differently toward the new fuliza rules. Here are some of the reactions,

Morgan-Hii ni illegal & shouldn't be enforced....fuliza is not an entity of M-shwari nor KCB Mpesa

Before someone uses Fuliza, it's obvious they have already used Mshwari so there won't be any money in Mshwari to hold
