The women were found in possession of the contraband in their car. The DCI indicated that consignment was being transported from Busia to Nairobi.

The ladies had fully packed the Toyota Wish car with the sacks, and the ladies chose to use a long way to avoid being detected by the police.

However, their plan did succeed as detectives followed a hotline message and managed to intercept them, leading to their arrest.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the two were arrested on Monday evening after engaging the police in a dramatic chase along the Nakuru-Nyahururu-Nyeri-Murang'a highway where the lady on the wheel showcased Formula 1 driving skills.

"Prior to their arrest, the duo had engaged Transnational & Organized Crimes (TOCU) detectives in a high-octane highway race, with the lady behind the steering exhibiting all signs of a Formula 1 finalist," DCI stated

The ladies had managed to escape police roadblocks on the road before the police interrupted them.

The two are now at the DCI headquarters awaiting arraignment in court on Tuesday regarding the drug trafficking matter.
