Police in Naivasha are investigating an incident where a flower field worker at Kihoto estate, was electrocuted after touching an exposed electric wire.

The man was pronounced dead upon arrival at Naivasha Sub-county Hospital following the electrocution.

Samuel Waweru, the OCPD for Naivasha, verified the occurrence and stated that an inquest file had been opened as a result of the incident on Tuesday morning.

“We are investigating an incident in which a middle-aged man was electrocuted in unclear circumstances in Kihoto estate,” he said.

In Koinange village, Nyandarua county, an 87-year-old woman was murdered and then set on fire in her home by unidentified assailants.

The perpetrators fled with her personal items and electronics after killing her with blunt objects. They also set a fire that contributed to the home's partial destruction.

Her body was found by her grandson the next morning. who had traveled to her place to go help her with chores.

The grandson reported finding the house locked from the outside. He claimed that after breaking into the residence with the help of a neighbor, he discovered the badly burned body inside one of the rooms.

A senior police officer confirmed the occurrence and stated that the body had been picked up and transported to the mortuary at Engineer Sub-county Hospital.
