100 Drawings out of 750 draft on COVID-19

Artist has the power to tell a story through their arts, and out of 750 drafted drawings by a Edilberto Jiminez at his home in San Juan de Lurigancho, on the outskirts of Lima Peru.

He was able to use a pencil and a book as he walk along the street of Lima and cities in the Andes mountains to come up with new ideas to put down on his paper.

He could achieve all these also through watching from the TV, how coronavirus is affecting people and the government. The book is called -New Coronavirus and Good Government.

In 1615 a book - New Chronicles and Good-Government by Philippa Guamàn poma de Ayala contained 400 drawings and 1,200 pages recounting the suffering of indigenous people in the hands of the spaniards.

The First drawing shows the reaction of a family as they stare in a shock at the television during the announcement of the of the state of emergency and the mandatory lock down to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

"One morning as I was returning from the market. I saw an old man falling on the ground and he could not get up. People could walk away from him saying that he was infected. Only stray dogs came near him and a few pigeons." The artist said.

His drawing of the pandemic scene shows the man collapsing on the ground surrounded by hundreds of dead who try to take him away while two barking stray dogs tried to defend him.

Another very touching story people dying at the hospital,  -the police chasing away the vendors with sticks, the unemployed or a family watching their father dying because of lack of oxygen.

The artist characters shows the Cruel injustice of Peruvian life. The pandemic has caused peru's intensive care units to Almost collapse and the exact death toll from the coronavirus is under debate. Furthermore he stated that- there is two types of pandemic for poor and Rich and indeed we are living in complete inequality.
