Malawi`s President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera Received at Statehouse Ahead of Bi -lateral Meeting
Malawi`s president Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and First Lady Mrs. Monica Chakwerra who have been in the country for official state visits have been received at the statehouse Nairobi by their hosts' president Uhuru Kenyatta and first lady Margaret Kenyatta.

According to a statement from statehouse Kenya on Twitter it read “the elaborate military reception ceremony for the Malawi Head of State, who is in the country on a three-day State Visit, included a guard of honor mounted by a detachment of the Kenya Army and a 21-gun salute”
However, the two commanders in chief are scheduled to hold private talks before leading their respective delegations in a bilateral meeting.

President Chakwera and his first lady Monica Chakwera jetted in the country on Tuesday 19th to attend the Mashujaa day celebrations that took place on Wednesday 20th at Wang`uru stadium in Mwea Kirinyaga county.
On the other hand, Chakwera was the Chief Guest at the Mashujaa day celebrations. He narrated the long historical relations between Kenya and Malawi dating back to the time of the two countries' Founding Fathers namely Mzee Jomo Kenyatta and Hastings Kamuzu Banda.
He also added that his country was looking forward to a future of close cooperation and shared prosperity between Kenya and Malawi.
