Azimio Suffers A Setback As UDM Joins Kenya Kwanza
Raila Odinga, the leader of Azimio, has suffered a major setback after one of his principals, Ali Roba of the United Democratic Movement (UDM), joined the Kenya Kwanza alliance on Thursday, August 18.
In a post shared by President-elect, William Ruto, he welcomed the members of the party warmly to his side at Karen, Nairobi.
"We salute the United Democratic Movement (UDM) leadership for abandoning Azimio La Umoja and joining Kenya Kwanza," Ruto stated.

Others were Deputy Gov-Elect Mandera Ali Maalim, Wajir Sen-Elect Abbas Sheikh, MPs Umulkheir Kassim (Mandera), Bashir Abdullahi (Mandera N.), Kullow Hassan (Banisa), Joseph Lekuton (Laisamis), Mangale Munga (Lunga Lunga), AbdulEnrahim Haro (Mandera S.) and Adan Haji (Mandera W). pic.twitter.com/woX8sfwxr7

UDM won 45 seats in the recently concluded general election. Among them are Mandera governor-elect Mohamed Adan and Khalif Mohamud Ali of Wajir.
Roba won the Mandera County senatorial seat on the party ticket, while Abass Sheikh Mohammed won the Wajir County seat.
Across the country, the party won seven Parliamentary seats and 34 Member of County Assembly (MCA) seats.
