Ida reversed her Saturday 29th statement urging the National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK) to regulate the establishment of churches and shut down those that do not satisfy the specified standards in a statement posted on Monday, January 31.

She acknowledged that her views had offended some church members and apologized for any inconvenience she had caused, stressing that she had intended no harm on anyone.

"It has come to my realization that my comment hasn't sat well with some members of the church. I sincerely apologize for the discomfort caused as I meant no harm to anyone" she noted on the statement.

She also added that with her training those who will administer God's message will only improve preaching services and promote the ministry of God's word.

"I also wish to state that my position on the training of preachers was also blown out of context by the media reports circulating online. I reiterate that training only makes the services of preaching better and promotes the ministration of the word of god".

Ida stated, during the introduction of Archbishop Emeritus Habbakuk Abogno's Christian Book on Saturday, January 29, that many tiny churches had sprung up in recent years, but that many were ineffective because their leaders had not been trained.

Some church leaders, according to Ida, were just reading passages as they were written in the Bible rather than interpreting them for their congregations.

"We want Kenyans to subscribe to religions that are formally registered and not those whose belief systems are commodified. It is also important that we conduct training for all those who minister the word of God," Ida remarked.
