According to reports the US Government is set to issue a wide range of sanctions against Russia based on various cyberattacks including the alleged interference in the 2020 presidential elections.

This move would be retaliation for cyber-attacks aimed at the US including the alleged interference in the 2020 presidential elections. Biden`s administration is set to impose the sanctions latest by Thursday targetting more than 30 Russian entitles and include the expulsion of at least 10 individuals from the US where Russian diplomats will be targeted. According to CNN, the diplomats will be given 30 days to leave the country.

Biden`s call to Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday, Biden stated that the US would work firmly to defend its national interests. He also proposed a meeting with Mr. Putin in a third country that could allow the leaders to find areas to work together.

According to reliable sources, president Joe Biden is expected to issue an executive order barring US financial institutions from trading in Russian government debt by banning them from buying new bonds directly from Russia`s Central bank, its finance ministry, and its sovereign wealth fund as of June. This move comes when tensions between the US and Russia are high. 

According to the New York Times, Russia`s foreign intelligence service will also be formally accused of conducting a massive hacking operation termed the SolarWinds hack which targeted several US government and corporate computer networks.
