A suspicious bomb note that was left in the lift at yare Plaza one of Nairobi County's largest retail malls on Thursday 23rd September, generated alarm in the city's neighborhood.

According to the letter, there was an explosive device that was to go off at exactly 1 pm.

However, Starehe Sub County Police Commander Julius Kiragu confirming the incident stated that a search operation was being conducted at the mall.

Authorities responded immediately and adequate measures were in place in search a way that By the time of going to press, tenants and shoppers had been evacuated from the busy mall and the towers cordoned.

The scary message comes barely two days after Kenya commemorated 8 years since the Deadly Westgate Mall Attack took place on September 21st, 2013.

 In the attack, four masked gunmen walked into Westgate mall and laid a cowardly attack on unarmed shoppers. As a result, innocent lives were taken and several people injured.

The fatal incident left 67 people dead, more than 200 injured, and hundreds were directly affected.
