Six police officers who were linked to the murder of two brothers in Kianjokoma Benson Njiru and Emmanuel Mutura , Embu County have been freed on a 300,000 shillings cash bail each

Court Frees Six Accused Kianjokoma Officers on Ksh 300,000  Cash Bail

The Accused officers have been ordered not to visit the crime scene in Embu without court permission.

 

The six accused officers are Corporal Consolota Njeri, Corporal Benson Mbuthia, Constable Lilian Cherono, Constable Martin Wanyama, Constable Nicholas Sang, and Constable James Mwaniki (driver).

The two brothers -Benson Ndwiga (22), and Emmanuel Ndwiga (19) died early August on their way home when police officers were enforcing a curfew in the area accosted them.

Speaking during #engagetheIG on Monday, Mutyambai said the suspension is to pave way for investigation.

“I assure you that justice for the Kianjokoma brothers will be served, but this can only be done if we allow the proper due process to take place with concrete evidence that can stand a trial in the court of justice,” Mutyambai said.

The IG further sent his condolences to the family adding that IPOA has concluded investigations on the matter.

However, the duo were laid to rest on August 13th  in an emotional ceremony at their home in Embu County.
