Deputy President has pleaded with President Kenyatta’s backyard to tell the president not to politically harm him.

Speaking at a political rally in Uhuru’s village, Ichaweri village, in Gatundu south the deputy president has told the residents to tell president Kenyatta to spare him.

During the rally, Ruto has lamented over government plans to sabotage his presidential bid in the next general election.

Ruto used the opportunity to lament to the president’s backyard of how the state was planning to frustrate his presidential candidature in the august polls.   

Ruto was in a tour in Kiambu county that saw him visit different places in the county including Ichaweri village which is Kenyatta’s home village. The deputy president was accompanied by his close allies.

Ruto urged the area residents to remind the president of the many times he supported him when no else could.

“Mwambie huyo Ruto unampangia ni yule mliombewa na yeye hapa Gatundu, na ata hiyo maombi, Mama Ngina alituombea…mmukumbushe ni huyo Ruto, na tafadhali usimuumize” Ruto lamented to the area Residents.

“Mkumbushe ni yule Ruto ambaye wakati palikuwa hakuna mtu wa kusaidia wewe, ni huyo alisimama na yeye.” Ruto further stated.

Ruto further went on to tell president Kenyatta to retire in peace and leave him (Ruto) to campaign against Odinga without the president’s help.

“Ata kama hataki kunisaidia, aniwachie huyo mzee ya kitendawili, mimi niko tayari kupambana na yeye. Yeye asimame kando, mimi huyu kitendawili nitammalizia.” Ruto said.

At the same time, the President held rallies In Nairobi’s Korogosho area to push for Odinga’s bid for the statehouse race.

Raila is in the United Kingdom where he has been holding talks with different government departments and has also met Kenyans living in the UK to seek their support for his presidential bid.
