Mbugua was handed a direct ticket to run for the Starehe MP seat in the upcoming August 9 General Election on Thursday, April 21 by the Deputy President William Ruto-led party.

Jaguar claimed on his Instagram page that the residents of Starehe were denied their democratic right to participate in the nominations and vote for their favorite candidate.

The party decided to carry out opinion polls to decide whom to award the nomination certificate and it has been done," he said.

The politician admitted that rumors about him being denied a certificate by the said party had started earlier, but he dismissed them.

"Could this be an outcome of certificates that started making rounds before nominations?" jaguar questioned.
