Kirinyaga Women Rep Purity Ngirici Welcomes Waiguru to UDA

Ngirici, a staunch supporter of Deputy President William Ruto, has declared interest to unseat Waiguru in next's general elections.

"UDA house is a big house. She is welcome," she posted on her Facebook page.

Kirinyaga County Governor Anne Waiguru ditched Jubilee Party for Ruto's UDA party in an event that took take place in Karen.

Pushed to the wall by the shifting political ground in Mt Kenya, Governor Waiguru has finally made up her political move and joined the UDA party, which is associated with Deputy President William Ruto.

Waiguru had signaled her exit from the ruling party and entry into Ruto’s party last month. In recent times, the governor’s support for Jubilee Party has been wobbly.

She is expected to face Ngirici and Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua in the gubernatorial race.

Ngirici had previously dared Waiguru to join UDA to compete with her in the party's nominations. The first-time lawmaker, however, dared to quit UDA should the party hand Waiguru the party's nomination on a silver platter.

Ngirici noted that she is not tied to UDA as a goat and can leave anytime she feels she is not treated fairly.

She who is determined to unseat Waiguru noted that she is not afraid to compete with the governor in any political arena.
