Larry broke down in tears while he spoke anecdotes about his life growing up with his late grandma at the memorial service.

Larry informed the congregation that his grandma was proud of all of her grandchildren and had a close relationship with each of them despite the bigger number of about 87 grandchildren.

On the other hand, his voice broke as he revealed that his grandmother was the only one who named him Omondi, while everyone else called him Larry.

He told the audience about his grandmother's sense of comedy, telling them how she would watch him on TV and wave at him, only to discover that he never waved back.

He however characterized his grandma as a caring woman who looked after her grandchildren after their parents died.

Madowo claimed in his homage that he was nurtured by his grandmother from the age of ten when he lost his parents.

His grandmother`s demise came barely two weeks after he revealed Francesca Omanyo`s death on Friday, August 27, while expressing his liking and love for her.

Madowo`s grandmother is believed to have breathed her last at age 101.
