LGBTQ COMMUNITY MUST BE RESPECTED!

The Gay and Lesbian Coalition of Kenya (GALCK) in a press statement on 19th May 2021 demanded to be treated equally regardless of their sexual orientation.

LGBTQ COMMUNITY MUST BE RESPECTED!

The press statement was given following the BBI ruling by Judge Noel Ngugi. GALCK stressed its essence in establishing working relationships and alliances with government institutions and civil society organizations.

The coalition envisions a safe space where the fundamental principles of human rights like equality and non-discrimination are guaranteed to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer.

Paying keen attention to the recent rulling of BBI being unconstitutional, null, and void, Judge Ngugi who is also an LGBTQ Community member was under pressure in giving such a ruling. GALCK promises to continue championing their rights as a community until their rights are considered.
