NCIC Urges Kenyans to Refrain from Insulting Each Other As they Wait for the Final Presidential Results
Speaking to the press on August 15, the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) chairman, Samuel Kobia urged Kenyans to maintain peace and refrain from insulting one another as they appreciate the pain of losing.

Samuel also urged the winners of Kenya's election to reach out to their opponents for peace, adding that the two leaders should find a way to work together.
"We urge the winner to reach across the divide to make peace and forge a way forward... We ask for the runner to be dignified and treated with decorum," Samuel stated.
Kobia also urged election winners to be magnanimous and reach across the divide in order to make peace and forge a path forward.
“This also applies to the citizens. Let us all be magnanimous and appreciate the pain we all feel when we lose. Let us not insult each other or gloat unnecessarily over the others. we are all in one nation called Kenya,” Kobia stated.
Kobia praised leaders who have already conceded defeat, insisting that this is the path that others should take.
"We commended leaders who have accepted defeat peacefully and those who are seeking legal redress peacefully," Kobia stated.
Kenyans have also been urged to remain calm and peaceful, regardless of their political affiliations, to be wary of fake news, and to wait for the official release of the Wafula Chebukati-led commission's findings.

"We all are brothers and sisters and Kenya needs us to remain so, no matter our political affiliations," Kobia revealed.
