NPS Arrest Suspected Al-Shabaab Terrorist In Lamu County

General Service Unit (GSU) officials in Milimani, Lamu County arrested a terror suspect with connections to the al-Shabaab militia group.

According to the National Police Service (NPS), the arrest took place during an operation to drive out surviving al-Shabaab fighters believed to be hidden in the enormous Boni forest.

The NPS said that the suspect is allegedly a member of a terrorist group that recently attacked a National Park Service (NPS) camp close to Boni Forest, a notorious terrorist hideout.

The NPS claims to have discovered a number of weapons including; one RPG launcher, one RPG hot warhead, one booster, and two booster housing during the Monday incident.

The NPS further stated that the victim had a wound on the leg sustained from a previous encounter.

"He had a visible suspected-gun-inflicted wound on the left leg above the ankle allegedly sustained in the previous foiled attack," added NPS. 

Another manhunt is being conducted to find the remaining suspected terrorists hidden in the area.

Meanwhile, the suspect will remain in detention.
