A seemingly frustrated Donny looked furthered annoyed when he was left on the during Man United’s Champions League win over Villarreal on Wednesday.

What caught many by surprise, however, was Van de Beek's reactions after being overlooked to come on as a substitute as United was preferring a double substitute to bring on Jesse Lingard and Fred, this is despite having an allocation for one more substitute. 

Erick Baily could be seen consoling Van de Beek who appeared to cover his face with his hands before he could be seen taking out chewing gum from his mouth and throwing it down into the United technical area where manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his assistant Terry Phelan were standing.

In response to the player's agitations, manager, Ole Gunner said that he understands his frustrations over lack of playtime but insisted mN United 'can not have sulkers' for a team that needs to win big

The 24-year-old has started just two games this season - in the Carabao Cup loss to West Ham and the Champions League defeat at Young Boys - and played five minutes in the Premier League as a substitute against Newcastle.
