Ruto said Friday that what is only required in the country is for everyone to respect the Constitution and do the right thing.

“I am very clear in my mind that we do not need the advice of the Scotland Yard to be able to remove and disband the murderers and units within our police force,” said Ruto.

“Supporting our professional police force will guarantee the lives of all Kenyans, security of our property and get rid of the menace of extrajudicial killings”.

Ruto said Kenya does not need the support or advice from institutions built by others.

“Even those other institutions that we celebrate be it the Scotland Yard or the FBI were built by countries that respect the rule of and who believed in institutions, we should believe in ours,” he stated.

“We must support the police force, Independent police oversight authority and they will guarantee our security and democracy and that is what I believe in.”

Raila had asked the president to seek the help of the elite Scotland Yard to probe the murder of former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) ICT manager Chris Msando.
