Shakshuka Recipe : Eggs In Tomato Sauce
Shakshuka is a dish consisting of eggs poached in a rich and spicy tomato sauce, onions, garlic, and spices. It’s nourishing, filling and recipe, healthy, and easy to cook.
Ingredients
6 eggs
1 tbsp vegetable oil
2 cloves crushed garlic
1 large onion thinly chopped
1 diced green capsicum
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp paprika
½ tsp chili
½ tsp black pepper
2 cut tomatoes
2 tbsp tomato paste
Salt
Coriander to garnish
Procedure
Heat oil in a large non-stick pan over medium heat.
Add onion sauté until soft and transparent.
Add garlic, bell pepper, cumin, paprika, and chili then stir until garlic is soft and fragrant.
Add tomatoes and tomato paste to the pan and simmer until slightly thickened.
Season with salt to taste and black pepper.
Evenly distribute small indents into the sauce with a spoon and crack each egg into them.
Cover the pan with a lid and cook for 8 minutes
Using a spoon, gently move the whites of the eggs with the tomato sauce, being careful not to disturb the yolk.
Sprinkle the shakshuka with coriander and serve.
