VIDEO: Students at Cooperative University Protest over a Colleague's Murder

Co-operative University students shut down Gataka Road and disrupt businesses after accusing police of laxity in dealing with insecurity in the area following the death of one of their own, Vincent Omwamba.

Police in Rongai, Kajiado county, had a difficult time dealing with Co-operative University students who took to the streets to protest the death of one of their own.
The students were protesting after a third-year male student in the area was stabbed to death by armed robbers.

Vincent Omwamba was reportedly attacked by an unknown gang on his way home on Wednesday night. The deceased was with his friends who had escaped the gang's wrath. He was a third-year university student majoring in information technology.

Police say investigations into his death have begun, and they are gathering evidence to find his killers.
