A 65 year old man is killed by bees saving his father
On Friday, October 29, 2021, a 65-year-old man was attacked by a swarm of bees and dies in Kotunga village, Kajulu area in Kisumu East Sub County.

The deceased was saving his 85-year-old father who was attacked by the bees. The 85-year-old man sustained injuries and was rushed to the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital while in critical condition.
Kajulu West location Chief Tobias Omollo confirmed the incident by stating "The deceased braved the bees - to cover his frail father with a blanket and managed to rescue him from being stung any further. Unfortunately, the bees turned on him and stung him to death."
According to the chief, attempts by the members of the public to scare away the bees and save the deceased from being stung bore no fruit as it was already too late. Reports indicated that wild bees were housed at a hive right inside the home of the deceased.
