CS Matiangi Orders Deployment of more GSU Officers in Rift Valley
Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang`i added more General Service Unit officers in some parts of the Rift valley on Tuesday 2nd August.

According to Matiangi, the additional security personnel will be deployed in parts of Rift Valley as part of election measures. He also added that the government will deploy the GSU officers Eldoret, Kuresoi, and Molo.
The CS also stated that in the above-mentioned areas at least eight people had been arrested over links to inciting leaflets.

This exercise comes at a time Kenya is set to go to the general elections which are slated for August 9th on Tuesday with many fearing the outcome of the elections bearing in mind the aftermath of the 2007- 2008 elections where several people were left dead.
Earlier last week Matiangi` had rubbished claims by Deputy President William Ruto that security personnel had been withdrawn in some parts of the country such as Baringoas away from fighting him.
