RwandaAir flight WB464 skidds off off Entebbe International Airport

On Wednesday morning, a jet taking out from Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport went off the runway while arriving at Entebbe International Airport.

The RwandaAir aircraft WB464 was carrying 60 passengers, 20 of whom were guests of President Yoweri Museveni's son, Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

All of the passengers and staff members were able to safely disembark.

“RwandaAir flight WB464 upon landing at Entebbe International Airport early this morning was involved in a runway excursion as a result of bad weather. All passengers and flight crew deplaned safely with no reported injuries”, a statement by Rwanda Air read.

While investigations into the incident are ongoing, airport officials blamed the occurrence on poor runway markings and low visibility caused by the morning downpour.

The guests from Kigali arrived ahead of Lt Gen Muhoozi's birthday celebration on April 24, according to Ugandan media reports.

The party is expected to be elegant and sophisticated, with guests flying in from all around the world.

One of the attendants is former Miss Rwanda Jolly Mutetsi, whom the Lt general is very excited to meet.

Jolly Mutetsi, former Miss Rwanda, my old friend will be there at the birthday party! We will have a great time, he tweeted on Monday.
