While confirming the diversion on Tuesday, Safarilink, a Kenyan operator with regular flights to a domestic and regional destination reported the move is a result of bad Weather being experienced around the Wilson Airport area.

This follows recent advice issued by the Kenya Meteorological Department warning Kenyans of a seven days heavy rainfall in some parts of the country.

According to the agency, Machakos, Kajiado, Taita Taveta, Makueni, Tana River, Garissa, Turkana, and Coastal Counties are likely to be affected by the heavy rainfall.
