The Blues played an entertaining match managed to clinch a big early lead despite allowing Tahs back into the game ending the first half on 22-14.

It was not easier after the break for the Tahs as the host improved on their first half mistakes by adding more tries to claim what turned out to be a comfortable win to extend the visitor’s losing streak to 11 games.

The Blues first point was from a penalty awarded just after four minutes of play from an offside by Waratahs which Otere Black comfortably converted.

Things went to worse for the visitors minutes later after lock Max Douglas was forced off from a hand injury and unable to sustain the continuous pressure from the hosts they were forced to give out another penalty which instead of converting for three points, took a scrum before the ball was sent to the right to Bryce Heem who showed an individual brilliance to dart over the line for a fine finish.

The Waratahs were again forced to make a substitution after substitute Whetton was forced off for head injury before making another change 10 minutes later as second five Lalakai Foketi was replaced by Mark Nawaqanitawase.

Blues took advantage of the disjointed side to strike on the 28th minute from a quick-thinking before the skipper which was converted by Black to make it 15-0.

It was all easy weekend for The Blues despite the Waratahs fight to try and catch up with the host who were in charge of the game to the final minute with tries from hooker Kurt Eklund, Loane, automatic seven- pointer from a brought down scrum by Waratahs, and a double from Heem.
