Meanwhile, in Isiolo North Sub County, the body of a former Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officer was discovered in a hotel in the town of Isiolo.

Police are investigating the cause of the death of the officer.

According to Collins Saina, Isiolo North Sub County police chief, the body was discovered on Wednesday morning by the hotel’s staff.

"The members of staff who reported the matter said that the door to the Ex-KDF officer's room was found open," police said.

The man, who is from Embu, reportedly told the building crews at home that he was going out to buy some building supplies.

He however boarded a matatu for Isiolo and reserved a room to avoid returning home later but he was later discovered dead in the room.
