Matiang'i Orders An Arrest Concerning Raila's Helicopter Attack in Uasin Gishu
Interior Cabinet Secretary, Dr. Fred Matiang'i, has ordered the National Police Service to investigate and arrest teenagers involved in the stoning of ODM leader Raila Odinga's helicopter on Friday 1.

Matiang'i condemned the incident in a statement, stating that those who plotted it should also be arrested.
"I call upon the National Police Service to investigate the matter and ensure that all the culprits and their masterminds are made to swiftly and decisively face the consequences of their criminal actions," Matiang'i stated.
According to the CS, such attacks return our country to the days it has worked hard to leave behind, which were the product of political intolerance.

"The regrettable incident is a sad and atavistic reminder of the ugly face of violent political intolerance that our beloved motherland has worked hard to consign to the annals of a painful history in the last 14 years," Matiang'i noted.
His remarks come after the ODM leader was attacked by teenagers in the neighborhood after attending the burial of Mzee Jackson Kibor. Mzee Kibor was laid to rest on Friday 1 in the home of his first wife in Ziwa, Uasin Gishu County.
Raila and his squad had set up camp in Rift Valley for campaigns on Friday.
Taking to his Twitter account, Junet Mohamed, a Suna MP, stated that the incident occurred when they were in the air. He stated that they needed to find alternate means as quickly as feasible.
"Today we almost got killed in soy constituency Uasin Gishu County at the Burial of Mzee Jackson Kibor. Our chopper was completely destroyed and we had to look for alternative means mid-air," Junet tweeted.
Raila blamed the attacks on Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandagor and Soy MP Caleb Kositany in a statement issued after the attack.
"I call on the two, and all leaders from the region who believe in our constitution, to come out now, not later, condemn the incident and promise an end to the bizarre attempts to balkanize the country into ethnic and tribal party zones ahead of August election," part of the statement read.
"Despite the violence meted out on me and my team today, I remain optimistic that Kenya will hold a peaceful, free and fair election in August," Raila stated.
