According to Narok County Commissioner Isaac Masinde, the three were arrested on Tuesday and they will be charged in court so that justice may be served.

Masinde aimed to reassure the people that his command center personnel are on high alert to deal with security-related occurrences in county hotspots.

Narok was identified as the seventh most important hotspot region in the nation prior to this year’s general elections.

Last month, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) expressed concern over reports of people purchasing IDs from registered voters before the election.

Wafula Chebukati, the chair of the IEBC, stated that the commission received information that certain people were around the nation looking to purchase IDs from citizens, which he described as an electoral offense.

“It has come to our attention that there are some people who are going round in a few areas buying IDs from voters,” Chebukati said during a joint press address on July 28, 2022.

Chebukati warned Kenyans against becoming victims of such crimes and stated that the commission was working with the police to ensure the offenders were brought to justice.
