President Kenyatta Mourns Fallen Ex -President Kenneth Kaunda

President Uhuru Kenyatta has sent his condolence message to President Edgar Lungu, the Government, and the people of Zambia following the demise of former  Zambia`s President Kenneth Kaunda alias KK.

The late President Kaunda died on Friday, June 17th at 97 years.

“On behalf of the Government and the People of Kenya and my behalf, I wish to convey our deepest sympathies and condolences to the Government and People of Zambia on the demise of former President Kenneth Kaunda,” Read President Kenyatta`s message.

In addition, the head of state mourned Fallen hero Kenneth as an outstanding statesman and a Pan-Africanist who played a key role in the African continent’s liberation struggle.

“Former President Kaunda was a great leader full of wisdom who remained actively engaged in promoting the interests of the African continent for many years after leaving office. We will always remember and cherish his huge contribution to the welfare of the people of Zambia and Africa as a whole.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, the Government, and the people of Zambia during this difficult time of grieving and loss,” President Kenyatta said.

The late was the founding father of the Zambian nation.

According to reports sourced by bright Kenya news, the late succumbed to an undisclosed illness.

However, the Zambian Government has now declared 21 days of mourning for the liberation hero who ruled from 1964, after the southern African nation won its independence from Britain, until 1991.
