Ruto has not Approached me to be His Running Mate – JB Muturi

Speaking on Wednesday, Muturi said that he is currently focused to be the next president and what he can do for the country, as opposed to what others claim they could do.

"If I start taking my mind to go to help others we will get lost. My focus would be derailed. My focus is on this issue of governance; Integrity among leaders, discipline, accountability, and transparency," he said on Spice FM.

Muturi added, "I’m ready to tell Kenyans this is who I am, split me into two, and find out what I’m made of. That’s how people will know that you mean what you say."

During the interview, Muturi said that the party he will use in his bid to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta is still a work in progress and it will be unveiled soon.

The Speaker has been meeting different political and business leaders from across the country as he plans to make his first stab at the presidency in the 2022 general elections.

He has also been meeting 'like-minded' leaders in his quest for the top seat.

On September 2, Muturi joined Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana, Narc Kenya Party leader Martha Karua and former UNCTAD boss Mukhisa Kituyi to unveil a political dream team.

The four said that the unveiled dream team will be in the race to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta after the 2022 general elections.

He has also dismissed teaming up with deputy president William Ruto's UDA, saying that he will not be bullied into joining any party but will instead come up with his own political party.
