VIDEO: Comedian Eric Omondi Arrested
Cum Kenyan Comedian Eric Omondi has been arrested by the police along Parliament road in Nairobi.
Christine Juma In a viral video on social media, police officers can be seen roughly handling Eric Omondi while pushing him into their landrover.
Omondi was allegedly arrested while leading the protest at Parliament for Kenya to play 75% Local Music.
Johnson Lemuna, the Central Police Station OCS who confirmed teh incident stated that teh comedian had been arrested and detained at the central police station.
“He has been arrested and is currently held at Central Police Station,” he said.
Omondi had just collected a small group of protestors in the CBD when uniformed officers ambushed them and arrested him.
Following the arrest, police were forced to use tear gas to disperse the adolescents who had begun protesting the detention.
