VIDEO Revealed: CCTV Footage Shows What Happened at the Nairobi Express Way

CCTV footage has now shown what could have caused the Nairobi expressway accident on Friday 25th June.

According to a viral video seen by brightkenyanews.com, the accident appeared to have been caused by the dead driver's excessive speed as he approached the toll station.

The driver seemed to have been traveling at supersonic speeds since the automobile continued to rush into the awaiting vehicles despite hitting the slowing bumps before the station, injuring an officer guarding the toll.

At 10.16 p.m., all three payment stops were filled by automobiles. The rapid automobile in the innermost lane lost control and collided with a personal vehicle.

From the video, Four tires are observed flying in various locations, one on the far left of the town-bound exit, another on the far left of the exit, and two more landed adjacent to the toll booths.

According to police accounts, the driver of the speeding vehicle died on the spot, while two passengers were seriously injured.

Other people, including the toll station worker and the occupants of the third vehicle, were rushed to neighboring hospitals and treated. The automobile wreckage was transported to the Athi River police station.

The Kenya National Highway Authority (KeNHA) announced the station's temporary shutdown. Meanwhile, work on repairing the station's damaged section has begun.
