Zimbabwe`s Government Expresses Regret to Kenyan Woman Over Airport Woes

The Zimbabwean government apologized through its Ministry of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage after a middle-aged Kenyan YouTuber said she was harassed on purpose at Robert Mugabe International Airport in Harare.

According to the woman who goes by the handles African Tigress on YouTube and Kenyansista on Twitter, claims that immigration authorities at the Harare airport demanded a bribe before allowing her to enter the country. She further claimed that because of her nationality, immigration officers had denied her entry into Zimbabwe.

“The immigration official told me that she cannot allow me to enter because I am a Kenyan,” she narrated in a video that went viral.

“After the officer went to meet her seniors, she came and told me to bless her with something small. At this point, they were trying to intimidate me to give them something,” she added.

However, the Zimbabwean Ministry responded apologizing over the matter adding that anybody caught as a culprit will face the wrath of the law.

“We sincerely apologize for the ordeal that our fellow sister was subjected to. We take this opportunity to reaffirm our zero tolerance to corruption and investigations are currently underway to ascertain all the facts. Anyone caught on the wrong side of the law will be dealt with accordingly,” the Ministry stated.
