Taking to his Facebook account, the Gatundu South legislator said that he was ready to work with the one Kenya alliance if they did not support former prime minister Raila Odinga.

This came minutes after the Chama cha Kazi leader met the OKA principals for a meeting on Sunday the 27th of February 2022.

" They invited Chama Cha Kazi and myself to join the One Kenya Alliance. Whereas we share many ideals between Chama Cha Kazi and OKA, we agreed to work together as long as OKA is not joining the Azimio Coalition which is incompatible with myself and the Chama Cha Kazi Part.”

Leaders present at the meeting included Kalonzo Musyoka of the wiper, Narc party leader Martha Karua, UDP party leader Cyrus Jirongo, Moses Kuria of Chama cha Kazi and representatives from KANU.

Kuria’s demands put strains on the One Kenya Alliance position that had formerly announced a possibility of forming a coalition with the Azimio la Umoja led by President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga.

The coalition agreement had been scheduled to be signed on Monday but in a statement by the OKA spokesperson Fredrick Okango, the agreement has been postponed to a later day this week.

“Therefore, in the spirit of inclusivity, we gave rescheduled the official unveiling of OKA coalition as well as signing of the coalition agreement that was scheduled for tomorrow (Monday) to a later date this week to accommodate our new partners,” read part of the statement.

The agreement postponement comes at a time when sources from the wiper party disclose that the party had not officially joined the Azimio la Umoja coalition. In an interview with a local channel, Kitui senator Enock Wambua disclosed that his party leader (Kalonzo Musyoka) was in talks with other like-minded leaders to form a coalition.

Upon his arrival in the country from Dubai, Kuria had disclosed that he was not ready to work with the Azimio coalition or the Kenya kwanza coalition both of which had been formed while still in the hospital.
