ActionAid International's New Secretary General
Ugandan Arthur Larok has been appointed as the new Secretary General of ActionAid International
ActionAid is an organization that fights against Poverty internationally. Larok joined the organization in 2012 as the country director of ActionAid Uganda before becoming the federation development director for the organization
Larok has interacted in global campaigns such as those against poverty and debt cancellation and most recently contributed to international efforts to defend and expand space for civil society around the world.
His appointment was announced by ActionAid Uganda. Growing up in the northern parts of the country, Larok says he has enough experience for his role.
"Growing up in northern Uganda, I have experienced firsthand what it means to live amid deprivation and face multiple crises and I now work for an organization that cares for millions of others who are less privileged," he said.
Larok has shared his intentions to create a world with equality. He envisions working with the youth and women.
