Bail at Last for School Bus Conductor Charged with Defilement!
Shanzu Court Senior Principal Magistrate Yusuf Shikanda released Elijah Githu who had been accused of defiling a five-year-old girl on bond after the prosecution failed to provide enough evidence.

Githu who is a bus conductor of Maryjoy Kindergarten School in Mombasa was on May 18th acused of defiling the girl while on her way home and since the prosecution failed to convince th magistrate on his detention, he was freed on Ks.100,000 with an alternative of Ks.300,00 bond with surety.
“Having considered all the relevant factors, I do not feel compelled to deny the accused person bond or bail. However, the circumstances of the case warrant the need for proper consideration of terms and conditions attached to the grant of the bond,consequently, the application by the Prosecution and alleged victims is dismissed. The accused person shall be admitted to bond,” the magistrate ruled.
it was later made clear to the suspect not to contact the minor, member of family or prosecution witnesses.
